Health & Safety Officer | Food Production | Dutch

Join a global leader in dairy ingredient production at their state-of-the-art facility in Heerenveen! Our client is a global player in the food industry that has approx. 150 offices across the world and is known for crafting high-quality powdered ingredients used in sports nutrition, infant formula, and medical applications. 

Key Responsibilities

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe and sustainable working environment by:

• Analyzing accident/incident reports and coordinating improvement initiatives within the First Priority program.
• Implementing the HSE annual plan while aligning with organizational guidelines.
• Developing and executing the Safe Home Assessment program.
• Maintaining and updating the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) and facilitating action plans with relevant managers.
• Conducting internal Health, Safety & Environment audits and observation rounds.
• Supporting environmental permit compliance efforts in collaboration with the HSE Manager.
• Organizing First Aid training and delivering HSE-related training sessions.
• Collaborating with the HSE Manager to further professionalize and enhance the department.

What You Bring

• A higher professional education (HBO) degree in integrated safety (MVK, HVK or equivalent).
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety (Arbo management), and environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with ISO systems and a keen interest in improvement methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage and influence colleagues across the organization.
• Proficiency in English and Dutch is preferred, given the international nature of the company.

Way of working:
This position is for 40h/w and is fully onsite role, and we are looking for candidates who live within 45mins from Heerenveen (or willingness to relocate).
