The Outside Sales professional is responsible for developing and managing a customer portfolio in alignment with the Agency Business Plan. They sell relevant products and services while upholding the Group's image and values. Their primary objective is to drive business growth and enhance the overall customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities of the Outside Sales Professional:

  • Take overall responsibility for the results of a portfolio of key accounts across all trades.
  • Ensure that competitive rates are maintained for each account and that all agreed rates are accurately filed in the relevant systems (e.g., Lara).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for non-controlled volume accounts within your portfolio, providing both short-term and long-term sales forecasts.
  • Set clear sales targets for each customer, including concrete action plans for achieving these targets, and coordinate with Trade Management.
  • Align customer allocation needs with Trade Management and ensure coordination on relevant matters.
  • Gain in-depth customer knowledge by developing account plans for key clients that reflect their potential, strategic value, and specific service requirements.
  • Plan and conduct face-to-face meetings in line with the commercial strategy, customer segmentation model, and overall trade objectives.
  • Sell both core and non-core products and services (such as e-commerce, VAS, intermodal services, etc.) in compliance with the established pricing policy.
  • Ensure that valid and updated credit agreements are in place for customers eligible for credit terms.
  • Strive for the highest levels of invoice accuracy and ensure that outstanding invoices are paid within the agreed timeframe.
  • Assist in resolving disputes related to contracts, quotes, and filings.
  • Monitor and follow up on customer performance using data analytics.
  • Identify and track customer volume potential, updating this information in the relevant system (e.g., Lisa MID).

Requirements:

Skills and Competencies:

  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required; French is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, CRM software, and relevant systems.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Customer-focused with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth product knowledge and understanding of the company’s offerings.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close sales effectively.
