Apparently, Americans love stroopwafels, or so one could conclude from the amount of enthusiasm people showed when internal documents shared with Business Insider disclosed that the fast food giant was bringing the Dutch treat to American McDonald’s this summer.

Stroopwafels are made from two thin layers of waffle dough, which sandwich a layer of caramel syrup. This Dutch treat is iconic and a must-try for anyone visiting the Netherlands. Twitter practically exploded when the news came out, with stroopwafel enthusiasts sharing their joy about the menu change.

More items coming to McDonald’s

The Stroopwafel McFlurry is not the only item being brought onto the menu in America this summer. According to the previously mentioned documents, another three worldwide favourites will be made available. These are the Spanish Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger, the Canadian tomato-mozzarella chicken sandwich, and the Australian cheesy bacon fries.
