Accessories Designer

Our client is a leading and established influential global fashion label, housing its European base in the vibrant city of Amsterdam and known for its commitment to exceptional design and quality craftsmanship. They take pride in creating fashion-forward pieces that resonate with a diverse clientele and set new industry trends. The division is targeted toward a youthful audience and embraces a street style. You will report to the Senior Designer, collaborating on the design and development of Accessories. Additionally you will support on various Footwear projects.
Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and supporting on handbags and small leather goods (SLG’s), guided by the Senior designer.
• Researching trends and concepts in order to bring innovation and functionality to the collection.
• Full understanding of technical design and construction, to support technical specifications for the vendors.
• Being flexible and able to work on multiple seasons at once.
• Support the team on Illustrator, CADs of bags and small leather goods.
• Generating boards of apparel prints and colours each season and keeping these up to date.
• Generating digital Design overviews of bags, and small leather goods and keeping them updated at all times.
• Assisting design team with design modifications after each development stage.
• Preparing digital and hard copies of seasonal colour cards and supporting the design teams with presentation preparations.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Fashion design degree, ideally in accessories design or product design.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accessories design work experience.
• Expertise on Illustrator is a must.
• Able to provide product direction and make product decisions.
• In depth knowledge of colour, concept, materials and trends specifically tailored to the accessories markets.
• Ability to work in creative environment, to handle pressure, to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines yet able to provide high quality work result.
• Strong digital sketching skills with understanding of scale and perspective.
• Strong team player, yet able to work independently when needed.
• Embrace the hands on, active, problem solving, open minded, dynamic, fun and fast pace environment.
• Not a 9 to 5 mentality, especially at peak design time.
• Fluent in English, excellent communication written and verbal.
