About the concert
As part of the Grachtenfestival 2011, the Portuguese Synagogue is hosting a special summer concert featuring three members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra: Tjeerd Top (violin), Ursula Schoch (violin) and Jeroen Quint (viola).
Although the string trio is usually defined as a combination of the violin, viola and cello, Czech composer Dvorák wrote a piece for two violins and a viola - the Terzetto. The programme thus incorporates the work of Dvorák, as well as other composers such as Zoltan Kodály and Ernst Toch.
