Taalhuis Amsterdam is a house for languages in the heart of Amsterdam, where you can learn Dutch, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, French, Latin and English.

Taalhuis consists of a team of dedicated native speakers from all corners of the Mediterranean Sea (and the Netherlands too, of course!) and they have a thrill for text, literature, grammar and culture.

Behind Dam Square, next to the Hortus Botanicus and behind the Vondelpark you will find their classrooms with an extensive programme, lessons in small groups and delicious coffee.

Group courses, private lessons and tailored in-company workshops at Taalhuis

Taalhuis offers group courses, private lessons and tailored in-company workshops, but also various text and interpreting services. They believe that learning a language is more than focusing on books, vocabulary and grammar and that many factors contribute to this process.

The teachers at Taalhuis, therefore, teach in small groups, with as little level difference as possible and they do their best to create a safe and "gezellige" atmosphere - also by playing games. In the classes, which are mostly taught in the target language, they spend most of the time on training speaking skills.

Trips, exchanges, film nights and walks

Taalhuis Amsterdam also organises events, like language exchanges, museum trips, film nights and walks in the Dutch countryside. And during the trips abroad you can bring your new language skills into practice: this autumn, for example, they’ve been to Sicily and Athens.
