All the product boxes are kept and reused for your orders, and once they break, they are recycled. The smaller, thinner ones, together with the old orders and other papers are shredded and then used to protect the fragile products in combination with biodegradable foam.
In order for the food to be safe for you to enjoy, they ship the refrigerated and frozen products via DHL in “TempGuard” (Kraft Paper Recyclable Thermal Insulation Packaging), which is used together with “Recycold” (biodegradable cool packs). For frozen products, EPS thermoboxes are used with frozen gel packs (Freezing Point of -21oC). Additionally, as well as DHL, they have their own delivery schedule for the Randstad made with their refrigerated van, so no extra packaging material is needed for the refrigerated/frozen products.
