Design Market Delfshaven
The Design Market Delfshaven is a twice-yearly event in Rotterdam, held in a building filled with creative studios, where talented local designers showcase and sell their work. It is typically held in May and November.
Design Market Delfshaven
This November 16-17, around 40 Rotterdam-based makers, including designers, illustrators, and ceramicists, will display their creations over two days.
The market features a diverse array of products including small furniture, interior accessories, clothing and textiles, unique art and prints, handmade glass designs, ceramics and lighting. You can also enjoy food and drinks from various refreshment stalls while shopping.
This edition takes place outdoors, in the studios' beautiful courtyard, and is the perfect moment to shop for the holidays.
A visit to Delfshaven
While part of Rotterdam, Delfshaven feels a world away from that busy, modern city. The small town mostly escaped the bombing of Rotterdam in WWII, and it's historic centre has been carefully preserved.
As well as being a nice place to wander the streets and sit in the old-fashioned cafes, there are also several museums, breweries and places of interest to visit. There's the Dutch Pinball Museum, and you can buy freshly milled flour from the famously tall windmill De Distilleerketel.
Visit the Design Market
Delfshaven has its own stop on the metro, and several trams pass through the area, so arriving by public transport is both easy and recommended.
Tickets are available at the door. There are different, carefully curated line-ups on both Saturday and Sunday, so you can come by on both days! You can find out more on the Rotterdam events website.
