Accountant | ENG | NPO | Temporary for 6 months via agency

Our client, one of the most renowned NGOs that tackles critical environmental challenges, is seeking a Senior Accountant on a Temporary basis via Adams Recruitment. 

In this role, you will lead and oversee the Accounting and Treasury function for a period of 6–9 months, working closely with the current Finance Manager for support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounts Payable (team of two) and ensure accurate, timely payments to suppliers, staff (payroll), expenses, taxes, and transfers.
• Manage income and overall cash flow to maintain operational continuity.
• Ensure timely processing and payment of VAT and payroll taxes.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Support the Financial Controller and Senior Accountant in preparing audits and annual financial statements, working with external auditors as needed.

Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, ideally with leadership responsibilities in an international organization.
• Strong background in accounting, accounts payable management, treasury, banking, and Dutch tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff.
