Schiphol best airport in Western Europe
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was ranked sixth at the World Airport Awards 2011 and named "Best Airport in Western Europe."
The awards are based on a survey by the world's largest airline and airport review site, Skytrax for 2010 / 2011 and included more than 11 million questionnaires, 100 airline passenger nationalities and 240 airports.
The title "Best Airport Europe" was given to Munich Airport, ranking fourth in the world. Hong Kong International Airport was voted "World's Best Airport" and Copenhagen Airport ranked last on the top ten list.
Skytrax's World Airport Awards have been held annually since 1999.
