Why the BSN Language Centre is a great place to study Dutch or English
With so many language schools and course options to choose from in the Netherlands, it’s difficult to know where to start.
The BSN Language Centre in The Hague has been teaching both English and Dutch to individuals and companies for the past 30 years.
Over this time they have become a language institution of choice, not only for expats, but also for local Dutch wanting to refine their English with the centre’s native-speaker teachers.
5 reasons why the BSN Language Centre is a great choice
Here are five things that make the centre a great place to learn Dutch and English in The Hague:
1. A good reputation
An enduring track record and positive feedback are always a clear indicator of a school’s ability to teach successfully.
The BSN Language Centre has been teaching since 1985 and has many testimonials from past students describing their achievements and positive learning experiences.
2. Plenty of practice opportunities
At the BSN Language Centre, students not only learn vocabulary, grammar and sentence structures relating to their everyday lives, they are also constantly given opportunities to practise it.
Through conversation and learning in context, students develop vocabulary and speaking skills with real meaning and situational relevance.
3. Cultural immersion
When you immerse yourself in the culture of a new language, your retention ability increases and the learning process becomes more fun.
Courses at the centre offer insights and exposure into the culture behind the language, encouraging student understanding and motivation.
4. A learning community
With more than 80 nationalities represented within the British School, participants at the centre are not just students, they are also part of an international community.
Students learn about one another’s cultures and share experiences on adapting to life in a new country.
Through this connection students build long-lasting friendships, resulting in an invaluable support network and, for many, a significantly improved quality of life.
5. A supportive environment
No textbook or methodology can help learning in a new country better than teachers who understand what you are struggling with, and fellow students who are sharing similar experiences.
The BSN Language Centre focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment, where students feel comfortable to express themselves.
A student who has been learning at the BSN Language Centre over the past three years, made the following comment:
"This (the language centre) is my second home. It has been a very important part of my success in learning English. I have also felt very much accepted by the teachers, my fellow students and I now feel a part of a larger community."
