About Deep Dish

Deep Dish is an eccentric performance by Canadian Chris Haring and visual artist Michel Blazy. The piece is a clever mixture of dance, theatre and live cinema.

On stage and on camera

On stage we see an exuberant dinner for four, which gets more and more grim as the evening wears on. With the use of a compact camera, operated live by the performers, a surrealistic microcosm comes directly to life.

Beautiful decay

The vegetarian food on the table forms a proliferation of tentacles, protuberances, and rotten parts that enclose the four friends. The total image is breathtakingly beautiful, but also frightening as the inevitable decay becomes very visible indeed.

About Julidans

Julidans is a renowned festival for international modern dance that takes places every Summer (in July), in the Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg and other theatres. Feeling its way around the borders of dance by established greats and rising stars alike, Julidans always features creators in the field of movement who have something significant to say about the world they live in, and who defy the conventional definition of dance.
