For the end of 2017, a new train service is expected that will let you travel much faster from Amsterdam to London and back.

Around four hours

Twice a day, there will be a train running from Amsterdam to London St. Pancras station that will take four hours and nine minutes on weekdays, and four hours and 39 minutes during the weekend, to make the full trip.

From London back to Amsterdam, the new service will be a bit quicker, because there will be no required border controls on the way. It is expected to take around three hours and 50 minutes.

To the dismay of many Belgian citizens, the train will not be making a stop in Antwerp because of the station's lengthy security measures.

Eurostar

The organisation offering this new trip is Eurostar, a service that already connects London to cities like Brussels and Paris through the Channel Tunnel.

The timetable still has to be approved by the railroad companies, so the planning is not yet final. Currently, the trains are scheduled to leave every week day from Amsterdam at 7.48am and 4.48pm, with slight differences during the weekend.
