Utrecht University students can donate old bicycles this week
Students about to finish up their studies at Utrecht University this week have a nice opportunity to give their old bicycle a new home.
The student group What the Fiets? is holding drop-off days to collect bicycle donations on campus today and tomorrow. They also welcome the donation of unwanted bike parts or accessories (functioning or non-functioning) you might have lying around the house.
What the Fiets? is a group of Sustainable Development students at UU. They hope to prevent the accumulation of wrecked and orphaned bikes on campus and in Utrecht by taking them off departing students' hands, giving them a fine tune-up, and finding new international owners for them to help new exchange students/staff transition better into the Dutch biking culture.
Where & When
› Library bicycle garage next to Espressobar Gutenberg @ The Uithof
› Friday, June 29 from 5.30-6.30pm
› Saturday, June 30 (by appointment)
For those students who will still be in Utrecht next year, WTF? will be opening in a new location on campus in the Unnik Jan van Zonneveldvleugel building, starting this coming September. In addition to their ongoing bicycle recycling programme, they will also offer cheap bike repairs, sales, and rentals to students.
