In 2010 more than 34 thousand citizens with a foreign background got married in the Netherlands, according to CBS (Statistics Netherlands).

One out of ten marriages between people with a foreign background is a migration marriage - a marriage between a person living in the Netherlands and a person who immigrates especially for the purpose of marriage.

Note that over 80 percent of Turkish and Moroccan citizens marry a partner with the same background as Figure (right) reveals.
