The Netherlands opposes criminalisation of homosexuality
The Netherlands was one of the main initiators of the recently issued Joint Statement (Human Rights Council, Geneva) by 85 countries opposing criminalisation of homosexuality.
"The Netherlands constantly works to promote the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, both in international forums and through direct contacts with other countries," according to Government.nl.
Note that homosexual behaviour is still a criminal offence in over 80 countries while in seven of them sex between men is punishable by the death penalty.
