Postdoc in Entrepreneurship/Organization Theory on the topic ‘Economic Inclusion of People with Disabilities’

The opening relates to a government-funded project on the economic inclusion of people with disabilities. The candidate will work with Professor Rene Bakker as well as other faculty in the Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship department on empirical projects related to the economic inclusion of people with disabilities. People with disabilities are the world’s biggest minority, numbering more than 1bn globally, they are still being excluded from large parts of the economy. This project will explore various avenues that may boost regular employment and self-employment of people with disabilities. Your role as a postdoc is to independently and collectively contribute to cutting-edge scholarly research in this area. Within this area, there is significant scope to carve out a project that you find interesting and exciting.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Management or Entrepreneurship or a related social science discipline (e.g., Sociology).
  • Prior work (including but not limited to dissertation) must involve working with large datasets;
  • Excellent academic record and work ethic required.
  • Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Enthusiasm for research in the area of inclusion of people with disabilities is required. The ideal candidate will be thinking of this position as a platform to build skills toward taking on a research professorship in the future.  
  • Strong programming skills in Stata and Python are a strong plus

  • A position based on 0.8 – 1.0 FTE.
  • A salary of at least €4537 and up to € 6209 amount gross per month for a full-time position, based on the UFO profile Researcher 3 and salary scale 11. Tilburg University applies a neutral remuneration system based on relevant work experience.
  • This is a temporary position according to Article 2.3, paragraph 5, sub b of the CAO NU. You will receive a temporary contract for a duration of 20 months (at 1.0 FTE) / 24 months (at 0.8 FTE).
  • Holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
  • Approximately 8 weeks of vacation.
  • The option to work partly on campus and partly from home, with a home-working allowance of €2 per day.
