Product Assurance Support Engineer (ESA/ESTEC)

Responsibilities:


Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) Implementation

• Define and establish PA&S requirements in compliance with ESA policies.




• Review contractor PA&S plans, specifications, and efforts, providing reports and recommendations.




• Ensure PA&S compliance throughout the project lifecycle, tracking NCRs, SPRs, waivers and critical items.

Monitoring & Assessment

• Assess contractor implementation of PA&S requirements and oversee corrective actions.




• Monitor manufacturing, integration, and testing with quality audits, inspections and test witnessing.




• Guide and control the procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes to ensure compliance.

Project Reviews & Risk Management

• Participate in design, safety, and acceptance reviews, reporting conclusions and recommendations.




• Support risk and configuration management, including the handling of RFDs and RFWs.




• Ensure proper non-conformance reporting, follow-up and closure within the supply chain.

Launch & Delivery Oversight

• Define formal acceptance requirements and conduct Acceptance Reviews.




• Support the launch campaign and verification, qualification and acceptance activities.




• Ensure all delivered items conform to requirements through Delivery Review Boards (DRBs).

Reporting & Documentation

• Provide reports on project PA status, including deviations and corrective actions.




• Participate in progress and CCB meetings, preparing agendas, tracking actions and ensuring close-out.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in an engineering discipline is mandatory;




• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the space sector including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance;




• Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset.




• Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable working in a diverse and multinational team environment.




• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
