We are looking for a Business Development Officer who will join the Octagon Professionals Services team at the European Space Agency in Noordwijk (ESTEC) for the Directorate of Navigation.
The Directorate of Navigation (D/NAV) is responsible, within the European Space Agency for implementing a number of Navigation Programmes, i.e., the EU-funded Galileo and EGNOS programmes and the NAVISP and FutureNav programmes. ESA's Navigation Innovation and Support Program (NAVISP) is a key enabler for innovation and competitiveness and a strategic tool of ESA to support and develop the overall European POSITIONING, NAVIGATION and TIMING (PNT) landscape. PNT data plays an increasingly important role in our society from increasing connectiveness to automating processes.

Responsibilities:
The aim of this position is to support D/NAV in achieving the growth objectives of the programme NAVISP by providing a number of services, i.e., market research and analysis on the PNT industry and the stakeholders involved and the identification of potential opportunities for NAVISP action.
The Business Development Officer shall establish and nurture relationships with strategic partners, fostering collaborations and mutually beneficial agreements. Specific tasks to be performed:
- Continuous assessment of available PNT capabilities in Europe and worldwide.
- Support to NAVISP Element 2: Non-competitive call for proposals.
- Support thematic calls for proposals.
- Outreach efforts to arise awareness of potential stakeholders.
- Administrative support from handling the contacts, tracking business prospects to organising of events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, business economics, with a strong technical interest or similar disciplines.
- At least 4 years of experience in the related tasks.
- Experience in PNT-related outreach activities in ESA context, including the organisation and implementation of workshops on national and international levels is an asset.
- Knowledge of business management in innovation-related processes.
- Knowledge of stakeholder management.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office software tools. High knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint and presentations skills is required.
- Knowledge of other systems like SAP would be an asset.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset.
