The Accounts Payable Specialist manages the full payment cycle, including invoice processing, cash transfer calculations, payment postings, and filing. They handle complex AP journal entries, perform AP analysis, and reconcile accounts such as prepaid, bank, and project accounts. The role also supports journal entry preparation for receivables and collaborates across units to drive continuous improvement.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Process invoices, ensuring accurate coding.
- Review travel and credit card expenses, ensuring completeness.
- Reconcile bank, vendor, payables, and accrual accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile advances with staff and vendors.
- Prepare reports for cash transfers and process payments.
- Set up vendors in the system and maintain AP filing standards.
- Resolve processing issues and communicate with vendors.
- Collaborate with other departments on AP-related queries.
- Adapt to new processes and assist with audit activities.
Requirements:
Qualifications we are looking for:
Professional & Technical Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for Accounts Payable.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup).
- Affinity for the international public health sector preferred.
- Strong analytical and accounting knowledge.
- Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
Interpersonal Skills & Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong customer service skills.
- Fluency in English (speaking, writing, reading).

Salary Benefits:
This role would provide you with the opportunity to work for a great, international organization with a supportive and knowledgeable team. You would receive a 6-month contract to start, with the intention to extend.
