Our exciting new client is a company in the high-end adventure travel sector. They have over 40 years’ experience of creating exceptional trips in more than 50 countries around the world.
They are opening a new business in the Netherlands (Utrecht) and will be transferring some of their key people there to get this new European office started. They have also created some key positions for the Dutch business, and this is one of the first.
The Hotel Operations Specialist role is responsible for managing relationships with Hotel partners (primarily in Europe) and securing key contract details such as dates, rates, and terms.
The key areas of responsibilities:
- Handling Hotel Contracts: You’ll negotiate and finalize agreements with hotel partners around the world, including dates, rates, and terms.
- Communication: You’ll use email and phone to work with hotel suppliers, learning to represent our client’s style and approach.
- Rate Recommendations: You’ll suggest rates for approval by the management team in Berkeley, CA.
- Contract Management: You’ll guide contracts through the approval process until they’re signed.
- Team Collaboration: You’ll work closely with Regional Managers to address any issues with dates or contracts, and coordinate with Rooming, Demand Planning, and Finance departments to solve booking-related questions.
- System Proficiency: You’ll become skilled in using enterprise systems and Salesforce Project systems to track your progress and manage tasks.
Ideal Qualifications:
- You have at least 2 year of operations/contract negotiation/vendor management ideally in hospitality or travel industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French/ Italian preferred
- Confident negotiator over email and phone
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, perform under tight deadlines and multitask effectively.
- Strong self-motivation balanced with a desire to achieve team goals.
- Affinity for systems, databases & strong attention to detail
It is important to emphasize that this role is only open to candidates already living and working in the Netherlands and with full EU rights to work here. The role will be based from the office in Utrecht so it is important that you can travel there easily for 4 days a week with one day from home.
