Container Administration Officer

Responsibilities:
- Ensure responsible parties are held accountable for damages to empty containers (both import and export). This includes managing claims against depots, terminals, carriers, customers, and any other relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the recovery of costs related to depot damages and improper repairs.
- Manage claims involving Acts of God, ensuring third parties are held accountable when applicable.
- Take full responsibility for managing empty damage claims in Belgium and, alongside a colleague, manage claims in the Netherlands. Offer advisory support for claims in other countries.
- Maintain regular communication with the commercial and logistics departments to streamline processes and coordinate claims effectively.
- Continuously develop expertise in maintenance and repair practices relevant to container management.
- Work closely with headquarters to align on and implement corporate procedures and guidelines.
- Track, manage, and monitor empty container damage claims and analyze the outcomes of recovered claims for reporting.
- Plan and conduct physical joint surveys to assess damage in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Handle administrative tasks including monthly invoicing, invoice preparation, and other duties as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in managing empty damage claims with a strong understanding of maintenance and repair responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills including technical terminology. Knowledge of French and German is advantageous.
- Experience within the shipping / maritime industry
- Proficient in current technology and standard software applications relevant to the role.
- Customer-focused with a reliable, stress-resistant, and independent working style. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, proactive behavior, and a collaborative approach.
Salary Benefits:
- A salary between 3.000 and 3.500 euros per month based on experience
