General Ledger Accountant - Dutch - Amsterdam area

Our client is a leading international company specialising in FMCG industry. They are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join their team.

The accounting team consists of 4 people, who are collectively responsible for all financial activities in BENELUX.



Responsibilities/Tasks

• Management and processing of financial transactions in the general ledger




• Executing month-end and year-end closings




• Preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements




• Reconciling general ledger entries and resolving any discrepancies




• Preparing various tax returns and ensuring timely payments and compliance with tax regulations




• Supporting internal and external audits




• Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial administration




• Collaborating with other departments to gather and analyze financial data




• Assisting with financial projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and other ad-hoc projects

Requirements

• Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG




• A completed degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field




• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes




• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail




• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written




• A team player with a proactive attitude and able to work independently




• Good Microsoft Office skills




• Fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French is a plus




• Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands. No sponsorship available

Knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards
