Come along on a musical and visual journey through 750 years of Amsterdam. The opening concert for Amsterdam 750 tells the story of the city with golden oldies and popular music from today, from pop to house and from sentimental songs to hip hop.
Opening Concert fo Amsterdam 750
The concert is a tribute to Amsterdam and features different musical and dance traditions that merge into a performance that has never been seen before. The Metropole Orchestra, dance company ISH and ZO! Gospel Choir perform throughout the night, taking turns on stage with other famous artists.
Amsterdam's rich contributions to the musical and cultural world are celebrated through the night. There will be an ultimate medley of Jordaan songs, performed by stars old and new, and a tribute to Amsterdam's club culture by the Metropole Orchestra performing dance classics.
As well as music, unique archive footage showing the city's rich sporting history will be shown, and comedian Rayen Panday will parody the city he loves.

Amsterdam 750
The concert is the official opening for Amsterdam 750. This is a whole year of events in Amsterdam that are being arranged by councils, community groups and cultural institutions across the city to celebrate 750 years since the founding of Amsterdam. From October 27, 2024, until October 27, 2025, there are plays, concerts, presentations, games and parties in every neighbourhood and for every age to enjoy.
While events are still being confirmed all the time, one major event to mark in your diaries is the Big Party on the Ring! On June 21, the Amsterdam Ring Road will be completely closed to traffic (with space left for emergency vehicles, obviously), and the whole length will become a massive street party!
With over 200 events planned, there's bound to be something that you and your family will love to take part in.

The Ziggo Dome is in Amsterdam Zuidoost, and just a few minutes walk from Bijlmer ArenA metro, bus and train station, so arriving by public transport couldn't be easier.
