Dutch police surprised when possible burglar turns out to be pet rabbit

In the Dutch city of Valkenswaard, near Eindhoven, the police received a call about a potential burglar, reported AD. After investigating, the police were surprised to discover that the “perpetrator” was just a very noisy pet rabbit.

Noisy pet rabbit mistaken for burglar by Dutch neighbours

Loud noises coming from another house on their street during the night led residents to believe that one of their neighbours was being burgled. After contacting the emergency services to report the suspicious activity, the police arrived.

The Dutch police, believing that they were about to catch a thief in the act, cautiously inspected the scene. Soon enough, the “burglar” was found, and it was not the culprit they were expecting, but a noisy rabbit.

Case of mysterious noise solved by Dutch police

A pet rabbit owned by one of the neighbours had been making so much noise in its home that it made others living in the area believe that something suspicious was going on.

After determining that no burglaries were taking place at the house, the police reassured the neighbours that the noise was only coming from a pet and continued their work elsewhere.
