Description:
Apartment in a beautiful green neighborhood. During a long backpack trip with our family, we are looking for someone who wants to look after our apartment in Amsterdam, near neighborhood The Pijp. This means emptying the mailbox, keeping the apartment warm and ry, watering the plants and, above all, enjoying the apartment. The apartment has lots of light, 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies, lots of windows and a communal backyard with picnic tables, toys and a trampoline. It is small (75m2), but nice and zen. Especially if you are traveling and need to work, there is a good workplace set up and I can really enjoy the sunlight and nature in front of the windows and the various parks and beautiful walks during lunchtime.
Location
It is a quiet, child-friendly neighborhood with lots of different parks and area's. Within 5-10 minutes you are in the beautiful countryside and within 10 minutes also in the hustle and bustle of De Pijp. That is one of the main reasons why my wife and I have lived here for 8 years. We love this quiet and green neighborhood with many parks, playgrounds and the Amstel river. But also cozy terraces and shops. The popular Maasstraat with authentic shops, trendy restaurants and real Amsterdam cafés is right around the corner (2 minutes walk).
If you like walking, running, rowing or (race) cycling or other sports, you have a wide choice and variety. The Amstel River, Beatrix Park and the large Amstel Park (our favorite) are within a 5-minute walk. And if you really want to get into nature, within a 10-minute run you are 'really' outside among the windmills, farms and Amstel river. Or do you feel like going for a swim? The Miranda swimming pool is also within a 5-minute walk.
Would you prefer more hustle and bustle? It is a 5-10 minute bike ride to the famous neighborhood De Pijp. Together with the neighborhood De Jordaan, it is the most popular area of Amsterdam, full of shops, good restaurants, bars, clubs, etc.
Are your traveling with kids? The neighborhood is very child-friendly. Various playgrounds, petting zoo, beautiful swimming pool (Mirandabad), miniature golf and other activities within 5-10 minutes walking distance.
As for public transportation, Bus, tram, metro station and even train station (RAI) are just around the corner. Within a few minutes you can be in De Pijp or downtown city centre within 15 minutes. But the most fun is exploring Amsterdam by bike. You can rent one around the corner at the train station for €4.45 per day or you can use on of our bicycles.
