Have you ever found yourself listening to the latest instalment of your favourite podcast and wished the episode would last forever? Well, a team of broadcasters and podcasters from the Netherlands successfully managed to turn that dream into a reality, breaking the world record for the longest uninterrupted podcast episode during Dutch Media Week.

The Netherlands breaks record for longest audio-only live stream

Working together, a team of podcast fanatics and experts planned and carried out what can only be described as a podcast marathon, recording a total of 153 hours of content without any breaks. 

Taking place in Hilversum from October 1 to October 9, various podcasts - including De Leeuw lult verder, Dit was de radio, PodBast, Han Peekel 75 and Mand - were recorded live and back-to-back in order to achieve the 153-hour record. It’s a seriously impressive feat, as the previous Guinness World Record for the longest audio-only live stream was just 53,1 hours, set in July 2020 by two podcasters from the UK.
