Sunweb to launch night train service to French Alps in time for ski season
Dutch travel organisation Sunweb has announced plans to launch a night train service this winter which would connect the Netherlands with the French Alps just in time for the ski season.
Dutch travel organisations launch new night train routes
Last month, TUI unveiled plans to branch out into the growing rail industry, launching six new night train services between Amsterdam and various cities across Europe. Sunweb appears to be considering similar options, as it looks into ways to offer customers more travel alternatives to flying.
Recently, the Dutch travel company announced it was expanding the package holidays it offers to also include rail travel, partnering up with European Sleeper, a new Dutch-Belgian start-up company, to run services between Dutch cities and southern Italy, Berlin, and Prague.
Sunweb to offer night train service to Alps and French coast
Now, Sunweb has unveiled plans to run a night train service between the Netherlands, Belgium and the French Alps this winter. This would, in time, be followed by a night train service between the Netherlands and the French coast - a direct route that would ideally be launched in time for the summer holidays in 2023.
“The night train in particular offers many advantages for Sunweb Group's customers,” the company writes on its website. “The journey is sustainable and safe, and also an experience in itself; because you sleep on the road, the longer travel time is not a problem. You arrive at your destination well-rested, meaning the holiday can start right away.”
