Eurovision Song Contest location announced
The official location of next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, held in the Netherlands, has been announced! The honour of hosting this tremendous event goes to Rotterdam!
Rotterdam to host Eurovision 2020
This year, Dutch contestant Duncan Laurence won Eurovision, meaning that the next edition will be held in the Netherlands. Five Dutch cities put in bids to host the event. The two remaining cities battling it out to have the honour of hosting were Rotterdam and Maastricht.
It was a tight race, but it’s now official: Rotterdam has won the bid to host the incredible event that is the Eurovision Song Contest. The Contest will be held on May 12, 14 and 16 in 2020 at the Ahoy arena.
The European Broadcasting Union’s Executive Supervisor for Eurovision said, “Rotterdam has shown fantastic enthusiasm and commitment and has the right facilities to welcome delegations from over 40 countries next May. We look forward to working with Rotterdam and NPO, NOS and AVROTROS on an incredible state-of-the-art Eurovision Song Contest in a great city next year.”
