Richard Blauwhoff

Richard Blauwhoff has been working for Franssen Advocaten since September 2021 and was sworn in as a lawyer in February 2020. Richard finished his Master’s degree in Public International and European law in May 2003. He also finished his Master’s degree in Portuguese literature and the history of international relations at the same university in 2003. After working as a trainee at the European Commission (2004) he started to work as a researcher and lecturer in family law at Utrecht University where he defended an award winning Ph.D thesis in May 2009 in comparative law, human rights and family law. Richard worked as a legal counsel at Everaert Advocaten and from the end of 2011 until early 2020 for the Internationaal Juridisch Instituut (IJI) in The Hague, where he advised Dutch courts, lawyers and public notaries on private international law and the application of foreign law in Dutch proceedings.
