Arend van Rosmalen

Colleagues within the field of corporate immigration recognise that Arend van Rosmalen ranks among the best immigration lawyers in the Netherlands. His detailed knowledge of the multi-layered immigration legislation, and his careful, analytical assessment of every immigration challenge, are much valued by his clients. Arend is pragmatic in the client interest, but has a sharp eye for principle. He is cordial, open-minded, thorough and persistent. Arend acts as counsel for the applicant in the case of Tjebbes and Others v. Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, in which the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice delivered judgment on 12 March 2019 (C-221/17). He was on the litigation team acting for the applicant in the case of Essent Energie Productie BV v Minister van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid, in which the European Court of Justice delivered judgment on 11 September 2014 (C-91/13). Arend obtained his law degree from the University of Groningen in 2013, and was given a national award for his thesis on EU citizenship.
