[Video] A frozen winter in the Netherlands

Spring, summer, autumn, and winter - luckily, the climate in the Netherlands means that, generally speaking, the country enjoys the highs and lows of each of the four seasons. However, Dutch weather is also notoriously unpredictable, so you never know what to expect. But many will agree that, through it all, the country's beauty shines through - even in the freezing winter months. 

Frozen canals and windmills: Winter in the Netherlands

Are you lusting after a bitingly cold winter, where the canals - and your fingers - freeze from the chill? So far, the winter of 2020 has been fairly mild, but get a taste for all the joys of a crisp winter in the video below, that highlights truly how beautiful and magical the Netherlands can be in the frosty winter.

The bleak natural colours contrasting with the joy and activity of those out on the ice - it just makes you want to grab your bobble hat and skates and get skating. So, so beautiful! Who knows when the people of the Netherlands will get the chance to enjoy such a winter again.
