As we were cycling to work or being carried along on public transport en route to our destinations, we had the music on our mobile phones to keep us company. But which tunes did we listen to the most? The top streamed songs in the Netherlands have been revealed in the Spotify Wrapped for 2024.

Taylor Swift remains the Netherlands’ favourite artist

Streamed more than 26 billion times worldwide, Taylor Swift was named the top artist of 2024 and reigned in the charts of 30 different countries. Dutchies also appear to be Swifties, as the star was crowned this year’s number-one artist in the Netherlands for the second year in a row.

Another return winner following closely behind in the global charts is The Weeknd and rounding out the top three is Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny. According to AD, the best-performing artists in the Netherlands after Taylor Swift were Dutch rappers Ronnie Flex and Frenna.

In all, the top artists of 2024 in the Netherlands were as follows:

Dutch songs feature as most played in the Netherlands

While Taylor Swift is the top artist, none of her songs actually made it into the top 10 most-played in the Netherlands. In a welcome twist, the majority of the tunes listened to most frequently came from Dutch artists.

Streamed 62 million times, the top song of the year is Sugardaddy by 19-year-old Roxy Dekker from Amsterdam, who has another song featuring in the top 10. After his appearance at Eurovision, it should come as no surprise that Joost Klein’s Europapa is also on this list, being streamed 160 million times worldwide.
