PostNL launches special Amsterdam 750 postage stamps
To celebrate the occasion of Amsterdam’s 750th birthday in October this year, PostNL has introduced a special postage stamp. The stamp sheet, titled “Amsterdam 750 years”, was launched to the public on January 2.
Postage stamp designed to celebrate Dutch capital
In 2025, Amsterdam is celebrating its very impressive 750th birthday. To mark such a landmark age, the Dutch capital is hosting a year-long party which started on the city’s birthday last year.
The Dutch postal service is also doing its part to commemorate the occasion by launching an “Amsterdam 750 years” postage stamp. "With this special stamp sheet, we not only honour the past, but also celebrate the future of Amsterdam," said Maurice Unck, Director of Mail Nederland of PostNL. "As the capital, Amsterdam has a unique place in our country and in the hearts of many. PostNL is proud to contribute to this festive milestone with this design."

The stamp sheet for Amsterdam 750 includes five different stamps, each with its own colour scheme inspired by the “diversity and vibrancy of Amsterdam”. Designed by Michiel Schuurman, the number 750 is displayed on the stamps in the form of continuous ribbons.
Available at Bruna stores and online since January 2, 2025, the stamps cost 6,05 euros per sheet of five and are intended for mail up to 20 grams. Other events taking place to celebrate Amsterdam’s birthday include a big party on the A10 ring road, where selected individuals can also get married on the highway.
