Dutch Olympic team brings home record number of medals

The 2024 Paris Olympics has officially ended and the Dutch team has finished in sixth position overall, returning home with a record 34 medals. Team Netherlands won 15 gold medals, 7 silver and 12 bronze.

The Netherlands wins a record number of gold medals

Heading to Paris with the biggest Dutch Olympic team yet seems to have paid off as the Netherlands not only walked away with more medals than they ever had before, but they also made history by winning a total of 15 gold medals. The Netherlands won gold medals in sports such as 3x3 basketball, hockey, marathon swimming, sailing, rowing, track cycling and athletics.

The biggest winner for Team NL was track cyclist Harrie Lavreysen who completed a golden hat trick, wracking up wins in the men’s team sprint, individual sprint and the keirin. Another memorable medal collection went to Sifan Hassan who earned a gold medal in the marathon, after winning two bronze medals in the 5.000 and 10.000 metres - the first time a woman has ever won medals in all three of these events.
