No direct trains between The Hague and Utrecht until Monday

There will be no direct trains running between The Hague Central station and Utrecht Central station until at least Monday, January 6, 5am. This is due to repairs taking place on this route.

Take a detour

On Thursday, January 2, a train was derailed at Voorburg station. No one was hurt, but because of this, all railroad transport between The Hague Ypenburg station and The Hague Central has been cancelled. Previously, NS had announced that services on this route would resume on Friday afternoon. However, cancellations on this route have now been extended to Monday morning.

NS advises those in The Hague to take the tram instead of the train between Zoetermeer, The Hague Ypenburg, Voorburg and The Hague Central station. Those travelling between The Hague, Utrecht and Amersfoort are advised to take a detour via Schiphol. If you’re travelling between The Hague Central station and Gouda, you can travel via Rotterdam Central. The extra travel time will be up to 45 minutes.

The Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) is investigating how the train derailment came about.
