Dutch police: cuts & reassignments
Police officers in Amsterdam and The Hague are to be reassigned to the countryside as well as other areas with high crime levels and unequally-sized communities.
Moreover, financial cuts for the 49.500 agents are on their way even though the police union is pressuring for more funds.
"There is already a shortage of officers… You can not have the same work with fewer people," stated the president of the police union, Gerrit van de Kamp, who proposed to reduce events that require the presence of police or event organisers to cover the expenses.
