134.100 millionaires in the Netherlands
Despite the economic crisis, the number of millionaires in the Netherlands increased by 10,2% to 134.100 in 2010, while the number of millionaires worldwide rose to 10,9 million, an increase of 8,3%.
Apart from the fact that the world’s millionaires "expanded in population and wealth in 2010 surpassing 2007 pre-crisis levels in nearly every region," the 15th annual World Wealth Report 2011, which has been carried out by Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and Capgemini, also reveals that:
› 83% of all millionaires are over 45 years of age
› 27% of all millionaires are women
› The combined wealth of all millionaires is 42,7 trillion dollars
› Almost 30% of money is being spent on expensive cars, private planes, yachts, art collections, jewellery and other luxury products
