This role is all about making sure freight costs are planned well and accounted for, ensuring smooth logistics operations. You’ll work closely with shipping data, help manage costs, and support processes that keep everything running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Freight Estimates: Make sure freight cost estimates cover direct shipping expenses, planned services like data loggers or extra packaging, and 4PL revenue.
  • Logistics Data Management: Keep the logistics data up-to-date for new products, monitor any cost changes, and use established guidelines to estimate packaging needs for cold chain and frozen items. You’ll also tidy up data on PFSCM Partner Sites and in the Routing Guide.
  • Partner Site Updates: Review and handle updates and upload requests for Partner Sites.
  • Shipment Monitoring: Track plans for Pickup & Data Loggers related to Cold Chain and Frozen shipments. Monitor the purchase order pipeline, ensure data loggers are available, and confirm that all costs are tracked accurately.
  • Forwarder Allocation: Assign shipments to forwarders based on current routes, the PFSCM routing guide, and planned cost reviews.
  • Shipment Costs: Calculate planned shipping costs and compare them with budget estimates, while supporting ongoing efforts to make the process more efficient and automated.
  • Pre-Booking Support: Help with pre-booking shipments as needed.
  • Adaptability: Be ready to take on other tasks as business needs evolve.
  • Incident Review Participation: Take part in incident review meetings, investigate root causes, and develop plans for corrective action.

Requirements:

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in logistics, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:
Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Freight Forwarding Experience: At least 3 years working in freight operations with knowledge of the full logistics process.
  • Freight Expertise: Solid understanding of freight booking, pricing, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Logistics Systems: Experience with ERP or Transportation Management Systems is a plus.
  • Global Health Logistics: Familiarity with international shipping, especially transporting goods to developing countries.
  • Financial Skills: Willing to learn financial management within logistics, including invoicing, reconciliation, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to gather, evaluate, and create reports from data.
  • Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of how weight, dimensions, and load optimization affect freight costs.
  • Cold Chain Awareness: Basic knowledge of cold chain packaging, data loggers, and freight management.

Communication Skills:

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

Salary Benefits:

Our client can offer a temporary contract (with the intention to extend) through Undutchables, within an international company working for a good cause. Here are some benefits you can expect:

  • Salary dependent on experience, but ranging between €3.000 and €3.700 gross per month;
