We, The Laboratory of Biochemistry of Wageningen University and Research, are looking for a motivated and pro-active research technician. Do you have strong laboratory skills and a background in in vivo molecular biology and cell culture? Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?
�As a research technician, you will be part of the Research Support Team of the Laboratory of Biochemistry. This team is composed of several research technicians, staff scientists and the laboratory manager. In this role, you will support the research groups with their research, by training and assisting of BSc/MSc thesis students, PhD students and Postdocs. You may also be asked to carry out experiments to advance a specific research project. Furthermore, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining protocols and workflows and will contribute to managing the inventory of stocks, strains, seeds and samples for the department.��
As the Laboratory of Biochemistry contributes to several BSc. and MSc. level courses. As research technician, you will also be involved in teaching tasks.�

Requirements:

You are/have:

  • experience with (plant) molecular biology;�
  • experience with eukaryotic cell and tissue culture (plant / insect / mammalian /fungi);�
  • experience with molecular cloning;�
  • experience with protein purification and analysis;��
  • BASc or MSc level (work experience more important);�
  • ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary research team;��
  • good time management skills.


In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level C1.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €2793,- and €4255,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 7-8). Additionally, a contract for 0,8 FTE can be discussed. Initially, we offer you a one-year contract, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm.
