Lecturer Cell Biology and Immunology

The Cell Biology and Immunology (CBI) group of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has a vacancy for a lecturer to join our staff, complemented with a fundamental and translational research portfolio in the field of immunology or cell biology
Your responsibilities as Lecturer will be;
- Supporting the scientific staff in teaching courses;
- Coordination and administration around teaching and examination (Brightspace, Osiris, responding to student queries);
- Supervision of MSc and BSc thesis students in the lab, with support from technicians;
- Keeping course materials up to date, including online materials;
- Giving lectures and practicals in courses (you will not need to develop the material, but need to be comfortable with it);
- Depending on your experience, you have to help other staff members set-up new courses.
Requirements:
- PhD in biology, with strong immunology background;
- Teaching experience, including supervising thesis students in the lab, designing and giving lectures;
- UTQ would be a bonus;
- Very organised, and a team player, with good communication skills;
- Enthusiastic to teach students about Immunology and Cell Biology;
- Detail-oriented for organising courses, including large courses (up to 600 students);
- Organised enough to handle being involved in several courses throughout the academic year, with some overlap between courses;
- Able to teach in English, and preferably also in Dutch.
In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level C2.

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3.537 and €5.331 for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 9-10). Additionally, a contract for 24 to 38 hours can be discussed. We offer you a temporary contract for the duration of seven months.
