Customs Broker | Dutch

Our client is a global leader in freight and logistics, specializing in customized supply chain solutions, e-fulfillment, and air, sea, and road transportation. They are looking for a Customs Broker who will work in the Customs Department within the Contract Logistics division (Warehousing). The aim of the department is to provide their customers with an optimal service by carrying out all customs-related processes according to the established requirements. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Process customs declarations in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare and manage customs declarations for cross-border transport, including gathering necessary technical and fiscal information.
• Liaise with Customs authorities regarding special tariff duties and other tax matters.
• Handle objections, BTI applications, and correspondence with Customs.
• Identify and report any irregularities in customs processes.
• Draft and submit petitions to Customs, providing necessary motivation.
• Address customs-related issues, offering advice and solutions to both internal and external customers.
• Communicate regularly with customers, suppliers, agents, and carriers to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• MBO-level education with a customs broker diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Attention to detail, stress-resilience, and strong organizational abilities.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Experience with AEB software and/or WMS applications is preferred.

The way of working:

It is a full-time role and you are expected to come to the office near Rotterdam at least 4 days a week. They offer a parking spot if you wish to commute by car.
