Configuration Management Consultant (ESA/ESTEC)

We are looking for a Configuration and Data Management Officer (CDMO) who will join the Octagon Professionals projects team at the European Space Agency in Noordwijk (ESTEC). The CDMO will manage a large number of tasks supporting various the Business Unit Controlling Office and Project Management Support Offices for the CSC Directorate at ESA.

The service is based in ESTEC in Noordwijk, the NL and supports remotely the site of Harwell in UK.

Please note, that the successful candidate will be employed by Octagon Professionals.

As a CDMO you will focus on the following tasks:

• Support the business unit controller or project controller in the definition and maintenance ofthe project CADM processes and tools, ensuring consistency with applicable standards and requirements. Standardization between different projects should be promoted.




• Support the business unit controller or project controller in the establishment and maintenance of the project CADM plans and monitor that CADM performances are met (together with the Product Assurance Managers and Project Controllers).




• Support the business unit controller or project controller in case of audit requests.




• Coordinate with the ESA corporate IT regarding the set-up of the relevant information management tools (e.g. Polaris, SharePoint, MS Teams), planning and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera etc.) and accounting and procurement tools (ESA-Star, ESA-p, EROS)




• Support the Directorate Record Officer in their duties




• Support the internal Management System Audits.




• Support the projects in establishing a clear list of the project baseline requirements and ensure they are entered and maintained in the selected tool.




• Registration and distribution to relevant reviewers of Change Requests, Contract Change Notices, Requests for Deviation/Waivers.




• Prepare the CCB meetings by soliciting the required inputs and follow up resulting actions and disposition of amendments to the contract.




• Act as secretary to CCBs for the disposition of Request for Waiver (RFWs), Request for Deviation (RFDs) and configuration change requests / proposals. Prepare the meeting and follow up disposition ofamendments to the contract.




• Provide status data and maintaining a well-structured configuration record system.

• Provide ESA Project Review support including administration of the electronic Review Item Discrepancy Tracking system (eRID), verification of data pack completeness, registrations and distribution etc.

The qualifications and experience requirements are:

• Master's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years work experience




• Knowledge of ESA configuration and Documentation Management Standards an advantage




• Knowledge of ESA administrative and documentation management tools an advantage (e.g. product assurance, systems engineering, project control tools).




• Excellent planning and organization skills.




• Good command of English, both written and spoken; Knowledge of French or another EU member state language would be an advantage.




• A strong team player with leadership skills; comfortable working with tight schedules.




• Experience with the ESA Earth Observation Programme would be an advantage.
