Job Description
The Department of Quantitative Economics within the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Maastricht University has leading international reputation for both research and education in Econometrics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematical Economics and Operations Research. We are offering a 2-year lecturer position in the field of quantitative methods, statistics and mathematics. The main task within these positions is to teach and guide tutorial sessions to BSc students at SBE, involving quantitative methods, mathematics and statistics.

Requirements

  • A MSc in a quantitative field; experience in teaching statistics and mathematics is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to teach courses and topics in mathematics, statistics, and operations research/management.
  • The preferred start date of the appointment is August 2025.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written


What we offer
As a Lecturer at The School of Business and Economics you will be employed by the most international university of the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Excellent employment conditions. Depending on the qualification of the candidate the position will start in scale 10 (docent 4) with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3.378 to €5.331 (docent 4) gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, you will also receive an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
  • An employment contract for a period of 24 months with a scope of 1,0 FTE.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
