The position involves supporting the category manager with administrative tasks related to product data, item validation, and coordinating with various teams to ensure timely product launches. This role requires communication with their buying office in Shanghai and multiple departments within the organization, including compliance team and Decoration team in Poland. The responsibilities are divided between assisting with clothing category management and providing administrative support across all soft goods categories.
Clothing

  • Translate new products from product brief into PO ready: Ensure new items are ready for purchase orders based on product briefs.
  • Assist in fittings and sample validation: Help the category manager with fitting sessions and validating samples.
  • Provide input for technical specifications: Contribute to the creation of detailed technical specifications for new products.
  • Maintain product development schedules: Ensure that timelines for product development are adhered to.
  • Support competition and sales analyses: Analyze competitors and sales data to support the category manager.
  • Assist in marketing-related tasks: Help with various marketing activities to promote new products.

Soft Goods

  • Send samples for decoration testing: Coordinate the sending of product samples for decoration testing to the Poland branch.
  • Work with compliance teams on legal requirements: Ensure new products comply with legal standards and quality requirements.
  • Handle product questions from sales and back offices: Address inquiries from sales teams and back offices about products.
  • Coordinate sustainability admin tasks for certifications: Manage administrative tasks related to sustainability certifications (GRS, GOTS, BCI, BSCI).

Requirements:

  • Degree in textiles for example AMFI or TMO.
  • You have at least 1-2 years of experience in category management in the textile industry (MUST!)
  • C2 level of English and you live in the area of Leiden
  • You have a problem-solving mentality.
  • Proven capability to adapt to new systems and willingness to learn.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Attention to detail.
