Workday Technical Specialist Europe

Our exciting new client is a company in the high-end adventure travel sector. They have over 40 years’ experience of creating exceptional trips in more than 50 countries around the world.
They are opening a new business in the Netherlands (Utrecht) and will be transferring some of their key people there to get this new European office started. They have also created some key positions for the Dutch business, and this is one of the first.
The Workday Specialist Europe will provide technical support, development and ongoing maintenance of Workday, focused on operations in Europe, and should demonstrate experience in Workday business processes specifically in Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking for Europe. Our client also has a Workday Administrator based in the US and this role will work very closely with that partner.
Some key responsibilities
- Provide support for all European business areas including researching and resolving configuration issues, leading testing and auditing of data, training cross-functional users, developing reports and dashboards, and troubleshooting integrations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborates with functional teams to ensure proper support and sustainability.
- Ensure up-to-date documentation of HCM processes and capabilities.
- Support resolution of issues escalated; manage incidents, track ticket status and partner with teams to resolve.
- Collaborate with project resources in all aspects of system testing including development of test strategy documentation, creating test scripts, coordinate testing resources, compile test completion metrics, and test script execution.
- Support end users with ad hoc or nonstandard batch uploads, create complex reports and resolve issues with existing reports.

Ideal Qualifications
- Degree level education – Business or technology focused.
- Minimum of 3 years of practical Workday Administration experience.
- Workday Integrations Certified is preferred.
- Experience using Workday Studio & Workday Security Administration is required.
- Advanced Workday Report Writing experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, perform under tight deadlines and multitask effectively.
- Strong self-motivation balanced with a desire to achieve team goals.

It is important to emphasize that this role is only open to candidates already living and working in the Netherlands and with full EU rights to work here. The role will be based from the office in Utrecht so it is important that you can travel there easily for 4 days a week with one day from home.
