Electrical Technician

Roles & responsibilities:

• Independently coordinates, installs and/or maintains installations in the electrical field;
• Drawing various types of cables (singles/ Multicores), connecting cables, knowledge of glands, minor mechanical work
• Reading schematics;
• Connecting motors (Star triangle circuits);
• Meggering, Coldwire test, loop test;
• Resolves malfunctions;
• Performs (preventive) maintenance of the installation based on the prescribed planning, drawings and regulations;
• Identifies deviations and consults with supervisor;
• Reports to supervisor regarding occurrence of more and less work;
• Performs some administrative tasks;
• Performs work, mostly at his own discretion, safely, correctly and efficiently;
• May supervise a small group of mechanics;
• Takes care of the tools and equipment provided to him;

Requirements:

Requirements for the role include:

• Fluent in Afrikaans English (European citizens can apply with English only);
• Technical diploma;
• 2-5 years work experience as an electrical Mechanic;
• Various technical, field-oriented, courses;
• VCA-Basic diploma (or willing to obtain one);
• NEN 3140;
• Can work independently as well as in a team, is eager to learn and has a positive attitude;
• Can work under time pressure;

What do we offer?

Contract wise:

· 2-year contract of 40 hours per week (with potential of long-term employment).

· 25 paid holidays a year (+ potential ADV days)

· Public holidays, with a maximum of 7 per year, which are paid by Xelvin.

· Holiday allowance of 8.33% (instead of 8,0%) over your total gross annual income. Paid each year in May.

· Overtime and shift allowance will be paid by Xelvin accordingly.

· Travel allowance of €0,23 per km, for the use of travelling to work and back home.

·The salary will be €3800 - €4700 gross per month.
