Postdoctoral Position in Strategic Brand Management
Updated: 07 Dec 2024
Job description
New products are not designed in a vacuum. They are often developed by organizations with an existing brand and product portfolio. These brands function as a platform for developing and launching new products effectively. Brands may signal quality and other cues, and they help consumers in their decision making processes. In our current society, brand meaning is co-created by these organizations (offline and online) with multiple stakeholders such as influencers, reviewers, retailers, consumers and the media. A strong and distinctive brand positioning should be based on a sharp brand DNA with consistent decisions on the brand's purpose and personality.
We invite you to join our section on Responsible Marketing and Consumer Behavior (RMCB). In our group, we investigate and teach (sustainable) consumer behavior, strategic brand management, designing brand experiences, sustainable packaging and responsible marketing. You will be working at the forefront of the new product marketing field as part of a young and international team that learns together and believes in the power of integrating design, consumer behavior, marketing, strategic brand management and sustainability.
The Industrial Design Engineering Faculty at Delft University of Technology is looking for a Post Doctoral researcher in the area of Strategic Brand Management.
In this role, you will contribute to TU Delft’s research in responsible marketing and consumer behavior to help organizations develop and launch new products that are sustainable and successful and aligned with the company's brand and innovation strategy. You will contribute to building a responsible marketing and sustainable consumer behavior research community within the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Department of Design, Organisation and Strategy (DOS) and help us to take a leading role in the new product marketing field. Writing articles on strategic marketing and brand management in relation to innovation and design is an important part of your responsibilities. In addition, you will contribute to the RMCB courses in our Bachelor and in the Master in Strategic Product Design.
The Post Doc researcher will be part of the Design, Organization and Strategy (DOS) Department at the Industrial Design Engineering Faculty. DOS focuses on the strategic role of design in organisations and ecosystems with the intention to improve and renew their strategies and thereby concurrently co-create value for individuals, organisations, and society at large. He/she will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Erik Jan Hultink (DOS).
The Post Doc position covers the period January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026 (full time).
Your primary duties as a Post Doc will be:
