Postdoc for Experimental Research on Spin Qubits and Quantum Simulation
Updated: 08 Feb 2025
Come join QuTech and create the Quantum Future!
Job description
At QuTech, we have several postdoctoral opportunities for experimental research on spin qubits and quantum simulation using gate-defined silicon or germanium quantum dot arrays.
Topics of interest in the domain of spin qubits include the scaling of qubit arrays, the study of novel control methods for high-fidelity operations, the shuttling of electron spins across the chip, and the use of superconducting resonators for fast spin readout and for coupling distant spins.
For quantum simulation, we are interested in developing novel methods for Hamiltonian engineering and for probing systems of multiple interacting electron charges or spins, to enable studies of the Fermi-Hubbard model and spin lattice models.
These positions are embedded in the Vandersypen lab at QuTech, Delft University of Technology
We strive to perform experiments at the forefront of the field and seek outstanding candidates from a variety of relevant backgrounds. QuTech and Delft University of Technology offer a vibrant environment in quantum research in nanoscale devices.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in quantum mechanics and solid-state physics.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated independency, self-drive, ability to identify interesting question and interpret measurement outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
The following will make you stand out:
- Hands-on experience with experimental research in quantum computing, spin qubits, or quantum dots.
- Familiarity with quantum simulations and many-body physics.
