Updated: 29 Oct 2024
Postdoc position on development of impedance eduction techniques at NLR/TUDelft
Job description
The postdoc will work in a close collaboration with NLR/TU Delft, spending time in both institutes in Delft and in Marknesse. Within the project AMPERE, Aeroacoustic Multi-path Permeable geometries for airfoil Edge-noise REduction, the postdoc is supposed to join a Team of 2 PhDs. The candidate will carry out the following activities:
1) carry out the tests at NLR with the PhD students from the Aeroacoustics Team using the eduction techniques, specifically addressing bulk liners.
2) deploy simulation technologies to characterise the impedance of porous absorbers.
3) innovate with the development of reconstruction-based techniques to create a geometry file (stl) of a porous sample (3d printed or whatever) to calculate the impedance of a liner with very efficient LBM workflows
Requirements
The candidate should have:
1) a PhD in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, an area relevant to the subject,
2) good analytical skills and a strong interest in performing experiments is required.
3) a solid knowledge of signal processing and mathematical theories,
4) advanced programming skills are advantageous for these positions.
As the project is part of a larger research program, practical interactions and collaborative skills are important too.
